Claudia Müller Montes

Live and work between Santiago de Chile & Berlín.

Claudia Müller is a Chilean visual artist who currently lives and works between Santiago de Chile and Berlin. Claudia holds an MFA from the University of Chile (2011) and a BA from the Finis Terrae University (2006).

Her artistic work explores the relationship between natural elements and universal phenomena, such as gravity and time, from an ecological perspective. His works, focusing on both terrestrial and extraterrestrial bodies of water, treat them as dynamic, sensitive and temporal entities. Through videos and installations of different scales and materials, Müller establishes a symbolic dialogue between ecology, astronomy and living beings. In addition, he has realised public art projects with astronomical characteristics, integrating these concepts in open spaces, where celestial and natural phenomena converge.

Claudia's artwork has been exhibited internationally in various cities, including Bogotá (Chile), Berlin (Germany), Paris (France), Bilbao (Spain), Barcelona (Spain), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santa Cruz (Bolivia), Stavanger (Norway), and numerous cities within Chile. She has participated in several art residences, including those at Fundación BilbaoArte, Bosque Pehuén Research Residence by Fundación Mar Adentro, and CAB (Casa Museo Alberto Baeriswyl) Art, Science, and Humanities Residence in Tierra del Fuego, KIOSKO, Bolivia.

She has received numerous awards and grants, such as the FONDART (Chile) and DIRAC (Chile) competitions. Notable among her awards are the first place in the 2021 Ministry of Public Works contest, receiving an allocation for the construction of the "Observatorio," a public art project for Boulevard Poniente at Santiago Airport, Chile. She has also received the CCU Scholarship, the Fundación BilbaoArte Scholarship, and the Creation Award for Finis Terrae University teachers on three occasions. Additionally, Claudia is the founder of the platform Xirius.cl, where she promotes the dissemination of art and science projects since the year 2020.
